CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM
Christianity is similar to Islam because Christianity and Islam are the two largest
religions in the world. Both share with Judaism a belief in one God who created
the world and cares about the behaviour and beliefs of human beings. However,
it is also different from Islam because firstly, Christianity believes that Jesus
was the son of god whereas Islam believes that Jesus was only a prophet.
Secondly, Christianity believes that Christ died a humane death plus spiritual
suffering whereas Islam believes that Christ did not die but rather ascended
into heaven during crucifixion. However, in relation to Jerusalem, both of these religions believe thoroughly in the foundation stone because to Christians, it is here the world began and to Muslims this is the same but also their prophet Muhammad ascended into heaven from here.

ISLAM AND JUDAISM
In many ways, Islam and Judaism are more similar than
you think. For example, both of these religions believe that there is only one
God, The creator of us all. However, a difference for both religions would be
ha they do not call God by the same name (Judaism calls God, God whereas Islam
calls God, Allah) Moreover, both of these religions acknowledge the same prophets.
For example, both Islam and Judaism recognize most of the prophets
mentioned in the Torah (from Adam to Zechariah), with the addition of some of
the Christian prophets and Muhammad. Furthermore, another similarity is that
both religions believe that Judaism are the chosen nation; In the Quran and the
Torah the Jewish people are described as being chosen by Allah. However, one difference
in relation to Jerusalem is that three times a year Jews were commanded to make
a pilgrimage (hag) to the Temple in Jerusalem whereas Muslims go on haj to the
Ka’ba in Mecca.

JUDAISM AND CHRISTIANITY
There are many similarities and differences
between Judaism and Christianity. Christianity
has a close relationship with Judaism, both historically and theologically.
Jesus, the twelve disciples, the author of most of the New Testament, and the
members of the earliest Christian churches were all Jews. One similarity is
that both religions believe in God, Adam & Eve and that the Jews have a
promised land. Moreover, they both share the Ten Commandments (given to us all
through Moses); both look forward to the coming of the Messiah. (Christians simply believe
it will be his second coming) and both believe that Moses led the children of
Israel out of bondage. However, there ARE some differences. For example,
Christianity believes that Jesus was the Son of God whereas Judaism believes that
Christ existed only that he wasn’t the son of God. Secondly, Judaism believes
that all humans are born pure and innocent whereas Christianity believes that
all humans are born with ‘original sin’ (which originated from Adam and Eve and
gets washed away during baptism.)
